Event Report
Our biggest and best Games Day yet, perhaps the last one in the Petco community center--we just don't fit there any more! I know we've said that before, and never say never, but now we've actually reserved the scheduled the new location. All that remains is for one of the organizers to check it out in person. It will be very nice to go someplace larger & cooler.

Still, I'm very thankful to the Petco organization and the Burbank store in particular for hosting us once again, as well as all of the previous Games Days. We couldn't have done it without them, and for the most part it's been a great setup. Thanks as always to Boulder Games for their prize table support, and now Fillip & Carom, too.

I don't have anything to add that isn't already in my session report posted to the mailing list, so follow that link and the others below to find out more about the day we had. Hope to see everyone again at Games Day 7!

Ah, the much-anticipated Funkenschlag game. Around the table, starting at the bottom left, it's ??, Jeff, Peter, Ryan, Dave A., and Mike M.

One of many Crokinole games that were played throughout the day. This is on Dennis Ugolini's Heirloom board (a different wood that the one Jon and I have). JW is taking his shot, with Erin, Dennis, and Jon around the table. DaveO watches.

Speaking of Erin, check out the amazing Through The Dessert cake she brought! Amazing! I think people were afraid to cut into it for the longest time. :-)

Eric, Russell, Paul, and Debby race to the roof in Skyrunner

Hey, the same four moved to McMulti!

Those Clasters. You can dress them up, but you can't take them anywhere. They're in the background, playing Union Pacific (that's Zoe, Bob, and Max). In the fore we've got Brian C., Larry, and Matthew playing Fury of Dracula. The bloodsucker is Mark S., off-camera to the left.

A little horse trading in the game of Kuhhandel. Players are Larry, Matthew, Russell, Mark S., and Dave A.

Starfarers of Catan, the game that spans generations! :-) Here we've got Timothy, ol' Roger, Jacob, Nick, ol' Joe, and Alex.

Timothy, the proud Starfarer with this spaceship.

Wongar and Coca-Cola, played by Zoe, Mike Meckler, Jonathan, and Bob.

The first game of Tycoon, played by Max's nose, Eric, ??, and Jeff/

Hey, that's me! Getting ready to sink another 20 in Crokinole. (This one happens to be my board.) Oops, I see it's the other team that has a 20 already marked on the rail. Ack!

Here I am again, now you can see my partner Jonathan, and opponent Roger (plus Eric, off-camera).

Atlantic Star, the rethemed & reissued version of a favorite, Showmanager, played by Paul, Chad, John, Alan. Karen and Debby are off-camera. (Well, you can see Debby's hat!)

Tiptoeing through the rice paddies in Dragon Delta are Chad, ??, Karen, Russell, and Debby, and Paul.

Turfmaster, played by Jim, ??, Robert, and Dave A. In the background I can see Jeff, Erin, Peter, and Ryan playing Industrial Waste.

The panorama shot. See how we're packed in like sardines? I hope you all had a great time nonetheless!

Color Poll
The sign-in sheet included a place for people to list their favorite color. This wasn't for any real reason, just silly fun. Maybe it's the favorite pawn color in a typical game. Interested in the results?
